This week's Mizzou Music featured interviews with three faculty in the MU School of Music each with an upcoming performance.

Guests on this week's episode of Mizzou Music included MU percussion faculty Megan Arns and CalArts faculty Nani Agbelli. They were featured in advance of Friday's Mizzou World Percussion Ensemble concert at the Missouri Theatre. Also on the show, soprano Christine Seitz previewed Saturday's Program of Staged Arias.

This week was the annual Chancellor's Arts Showcase, an annual expression of art at MU. Dr. Julia Gaines previewed the collaboration between the MU School of Music, the Departments of Art and Theater and the MU Botanic Garden. She also discussed her MU School of Music's upcoming building project.

The Plowman Chamber Music Competition is this week in Columbia. A pair of the event's judges - cellist Joel Krosnick and pianist Alessio Bax - were recent guests on Mizzou Music.

Paul Crabb previewed this Saturday's concert of the University Singers. The concert features a world premiere of William Averitt's Black Pierrot, a work that sets the poetry of Langston Hughes to music.

Alice K Dade has a recital this Sunday with pianist Peter Miyamoto. Dade talked with Trevor Harris for this week's Mizzou Music about the flutist's roles as an educator, performer and recording artist.

Josh Reed programmed music from the canon and new works for tonight's MU Concert Jazz Band performance. Reed is the newly appointed director of jazz studies at the University of Missouri.
